The Casies valley is a veritable cross country skiing paradise. A 150 km long cross country skiing track leads through a dreamlike landscape from Casies, Alta Val Pusteria, Dobbiaco, San Candido until Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Easily reachable is the South Tyrolean skiing resort no. 1: the Plan de Corones. Après-ski amusement to make things hum, and a sunbathing terrace for ski bunnies complete the whole works.
In the pre-Christmas period the scent of cinnamon cookies and glühwein fills the air at the Christkindlmarkt in Brunico, a fine Advent experience for the whole family.
Many alpine huts in the Casies valley are open also in winter and are easily reachable on forestry roads, ensuring glorious sledging fun for young and old. Snow-shoe hikers have a vast choice of tracks to alpine huts and mountain tops of the Val Casies or the Dolomites.
Winter hikes, ice skating, curling, ice climbing, sleigh rides, horse riding – all this completes the leisure activities in the Casies valley.
